Book #1 in the Dangerous Ground series
Contemporary, Action-Adventure, Law Enforcement
Special Agents for the Department of Diplomatic Security, Taylor MacAllister and Will Brandt have been partners and best friends for three years, but everything changed the night Taylor admitted the truth about his feelings for Will. But it's complicated...
Taylor agreed to a camping trip in the High Sierras -- despite the fact that he hates camping -- because Will wants a chance to save their partnership. But the trip is a disaster from the first, and things rapidly go from bad to worse when they find a crashed plane and a couple of million dollars in stolen money.
With a trio of murderous robbers trailing them, Will and Taylor are on dangerous ground, fighting for their partnership, their passion...and their lives.
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
Dangerous Ground is a sexy suspense filled story of two strong determined men, one of whom is trying to save their friendship and one who wants more than just friendship. Josh Lanyon has created two terrific and likable characters each of whom are easy to relate to. Will and Taylor are irresistible and make a well matched team. I highly recommend this book to fans of the m/m genre. The hot and steamy erotic hot springs scene alone is enough reason to read this book!

Dangerous Grounds is a gripping and well developed tale that makes for a good read. I was completely drawn into the story of Taylor and Will and you can feel their love jump out of the pages. Josh Lanyon is a masterful writer you just should not miss if you enjoy M/M romance.

Tight pacing and real danger glue all of this together into a package that’s uniquely Lanyon. When it comes to creating men who seem like they could walk and talk in the real world as well as the page, he stands tall in a very elite group.

What a great story! There's so much conflict. We have the internal conflict of these two men struggling with their physical differences, with their equality (alpha/alpha), loss of confidence, anger, desire, trust. And then the external forces come into play. When the two recover 2 million dollars and stash it, things really begin to pick up. At odds with each other, they traipse through those mountains with a united purpose, even as their already frayed relationship unravels. Yippee ki-yay!

Dangerous Ground is fantastic! Its action packed, suspenseful, romantic, and erotic. I love Will and Taylor. When they’re not dodging bullets or running for their lives, they’re driving each other crazy. Taylor is a little impulsive and Will is more contemplative. They are sexy as hell and they make a great team. Dangerous Ground has the perfect balance of story and romance. I want more! Will and Taylor’s adventures would make a great series!
A Recommended Read at Joyfully Reviewed
The author does a great job of painting the scenes so they’re easy to visualize in our mind as we read. I always appreciate it when I see how hard an author has worked to make places seem realistic as we read. He also builds an intimacy between the men that’s much more than sex. That’s one of my favorite things about a good romance and Josh Lanyon does it well.
Five Hearts at The Romance Studio
Dangerous Ground is even better than the hype. I rated the plot 10 out of 10 the pacing is just right and the author does his usual flawless execution in wrapping up the story tight as a drum without any loose ends. There is also his signature dry humour in the book to lighten the dark storyline. The protagonists are not as flawed as we have come to expect of this author’s heroes. Switching from first to third person POV seems to have changed the dynamic between his two main characters and this works exceptionally well here and, in my opinion, added depth to the book. Once the action gets going it doesn’t stop and the story is an intense adrenaline rush powered by the attraction and conflict between Taylor and Will, giving readers a nail biting roller coaster ride.
Five out of Five - Reviews by Jessewave
(Dangerous Ground) is what I consider rompin' good fun. The author hits all the requirements of a very good read in my opinion. The characterization is superb, revealed in the dialog and action of the story to an extent that I felt I knew these two characters very well. The relationship between Will and Taylor was gratifying. Both are very strong males and they are very different, so interactions between them are not always easy, but I loved how they cared about each as they tried to figure out how to connect. The pacing was also done very well, with just the right balance between the action and the relationship development. ompin' good fun...hits all the requirements of a very good read in my opinion.
